Research: Isabel Maitland Stewart

Isabel Maitland Stewart (1878 – 1963) was born in Canada. She is known for being an author and leader in the development of nursing school. Stewart received a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Teachers College. In 1925 she became the chairman of the department of Nursing Education at Teachers College. She is credited with creating the first course focusing on how to teach nursing.
