Research: Thomas L. Hopkins

Thomas L. Hopkins (1889 – 1982) Was born in Truro, Massachusetts. He received a Bachelor’s degree in 1910 from Tufts University and received a Master’s degree from Tufts University in 1911. In 1922 Hopkins received his Doctor of Education degree from Harvard University. After receiving his Ed.D from Harvard, he accepted a tenured position at the University of Colorado, Boulder. In 1929 he accepted a position at Teachers College and stayed at Teachers College for the next 25 years. Hopkins was a progressive education theorist. He challenged the standard definition of an integrated curriculum. After retiring from Teachers College, Hopkins became a Fulbright scholar in Egypt.
